Carollos vision is to be the BEST water consulting firm and youll find that Carollo is also the best place for you to build your career.Responsibilities:Production of contract documents including plans and specificationsPerforms load and voltage drop calculationsExpert in short circuit, protective device and coordination studiesExpert in development of One-Line diagrams and Control schematicsInterfaces and coordinates the electrical design with electrical utilities, project team and clientMentors and trains staff-level electrical engineersPrepares technical memorandums and reportsEnforces company and client standards on projectsPrepares construction and design cost estimatesManages the electrical portion of medium to large sized projects for water and wastewater treatment facilitiesConducts quality management reviews of electrical designParticipates in continuing editing and development of electrical master specificationsDevelops project specific specifications for unusual or unique instrumentation applicationsPrioritizes and balances competing project demands and conflicting project requirementsManages other electrical engineers and CADD technicians to effectively complete work with attention to detailDelegates tasks to others and follows ups on completion and quality of workIdentifies and consults with others on solutions to unusual, difficult, or complex tasksEffectively participates in client contacts and business development effortsIdentifies alternatives, evaluates each, and determines appropriate actions to move forwardMakes solid and implementable decisions in a timely mannerReduces complex aspects of electrical engineering to terms understandable to othersAttends to details in preparation or review of calculations, drawings, and specificationsMonitors scope, schedule, and budget and controls the work to the project planUnderstands, implements, and enforces company and client technical standards on projectsTravel required when requestedMakes site visits to observe during construction and operationQualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering10+ years of experience in the design of industrial power and control systemsRegistration as a Professional EngineerRegistered with the NCEESExperience in the design of low voltage power distribution systems, industrial controls and lighting systems for water and wastewater treatment facilitiesExpert in the design of low and medium voltage power distribution systems, industrial controls, and lighting systems for water and wastewater treatment facilitiesExpert in the design of point to point conduit and wire systems for water and wastewater treatment facilitiesExpert in lighting calculations and design of lighting systemsExpert in receptacle designs, calculations, and phase balancingExpert in the design of conduit, cable tray, wireway and duct bank point-to-point routingProficient in the design of telephone/communications systemsComprehensive knowledge of the NFPA 70E, NFPA 101, and NFPA 820Extensive knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical CodeExtensive knowledge of symmetrical components, fault current calculations, and machine theoryExtensive knowledge of hazardous/classified area design, fire detection, and protection system designAbility to read and understand P&IDs, control strategies, and the development of control schematics based upon these documentsExtensive knowledge of SKM or ETAP or ESDAProficient working with multi-discipline project teams, including a leadership role of electrical or instrumentation project teamsAbility to work with minimum supervision on medium to large electrical power systems for water and wastewater treatment facilitiesUnderstands projects at the conceptual level, and develops corresponding electrical engineering scope of work, budget and scheduleAbility to work independently to effectively complete routine or moderately complex tasksAbility to simultaneously think beyond past approaches and propose practical approaches to electrical design and constructionAbility to communicate clearly and concisely in speech, writing, and contract documentsStrong oral and written communications skillsProficient in public speaking rolesProficient in MS Word, Access, and ExcelExperience with Microstation and AutocadPreferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in Electrical Engineering

Pay Range:$125,000 to $170,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
