Lead Mechanical Engineer / ManagerWe are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to Lead our Team in Charlotte NC. This individual will Manage operations, execution, and expectations for the Mechanical Engineering Discipline.Must be able to Lead & Manage multiple concurrent Projects. Client facing, Comfortable Leading a Team and Meeting with Clients & Contractors. Must have strong technical skills and background in HVAC Systems Design, responsible for participating in the design process of mechanical building systems and preparing detailed mechanical engineering design calculations and drawings of mechanical systems, from schematics through construction administration, on a wide range of building types. Preferred experience in Healthcare, Higher-Education, K-12, Civic/Public Works, and Energy Efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET Accredited College or UniversityPE License RequiredSecurity Clearance Preferred, Not Required8 to 10+ years of experience with an MEP or Engineering Consulting firm designing HVAC building systems on complex projectsExperience Leading & Managing People and Projects and delegating duties & workload.Proficient in Revit and AutoCADProven Project experience in Healthcare, Higher-Education, K-12, Civic/Public Works, and Energy EfficiencyDevelop HVAC designs from concept through completion of construction.Coordinate HVAC design requirements with architecture, structure, and other disciplines.Prepare engineering design calculations and mechanical system layouts, and detailed engineering reports and narratives.Experience with direct client contact and fostering those relationships. Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.Support business development initiatives by assisting the RFP process and interview process.Actively engage in community and/or industry-specific organizations.Desired, Not Required
Experience and interest in Sustainable Building DesignLEED AP or LEED GA with previous experience participating in the LEED or other green rating system process.An appreciation and understanding of architectural design and how architects work and think.
