is seeking a Noise Control and Acoustics Intern to join our team in our Denver, CO or Minneapolis, MN office. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. This position is anticipated to start Summer 2025.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with data interpretation using spreadsheet analysis while effectively maintaining data documentation.Collaborate on desktop noise modeling efforts to support renewables, energy, transportation, and land development projects.Assist with field measurements, equipment maintenance, and associated documentation.Prepare reports and memos to deliver analysis results and communicate technical concepts, including clear, complete, and accurate data representations.Research and interpret local noise ordinances and general planning/zoning policies to identify applicable noise regulations in different jurisdictions.Core responsibility includes processing data from project team members and anticipating information needs and presentation format as part of engineering workflows.Required Skills:
Strong capabilities in data manipulation and analysis.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Basic understanding of acoustic concepts, including noise level metrics and common environmental noise sources.Ability to independently manage multiple assignments, determine and set job task priorities and work with limited direct supervision.Preferred Experience:
Pursuing or possessing a degree in acoustics, physics, environmental planning, mechanical engineering, or related field.Familiarity with renewable energy systems, mechanical (HVAC) equipment, or environmental policy.Experience using CadnaA, SoundPlan, WindPro, TNM 2.5, or another popular noise modeling software.Experience using sound level meters for field noise measurements.
Compensation Range Minimum:USD $20.00/Hr.
Compensation Range Maximum:USD $23.00/Hr.
