Overview
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.
First Citizens Aerospace, Defense & Government, part of the company's Commercial Finance group, offers asset backed loans for commercial aircraft, aircraft engines and aircraft parts as well as cash flow loans to manufacturers, service providers and private equity sponsors in the sector.
The Underwriter III/IV ADG will work within a team construct to [assist and lead certain aspects of] the credit underwriting and portfolio management of diverse debt solutions including specifically: (i) LBO Financing, (ii) Acquisition Financing, (iii) Debt Refinancing, and (iv) Recapitalizations for middle-market companies. Counterparties will include aerospace, defense, and government contracting focused companies, private equity teams, and other Lenders.
Responsibilities
Candidates will prepare cash flow, ABL, and asset-backed models, will conduct independent industry and business model research, will assist in the underwriting of credits, and will manage accounts post close.Assists in the preparation of waivers and amendment requests or add-on opportunities.Updates ETT, CreditLens and review forms in a timely manner.Maintains credit files in preparation for internal or external audits.Ensures compliance with all CIT policies and procedures.Firm understanding of CIT systems and resources

Underwriting III
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Credit Analysis, Underwriting or Risk Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Credit Analysis, Underwriting or Risk Management
Additional Requirements
At least 2 years of experience in business lending, finance or investing environment, financial reporting and analysisAsset Based Lending, Cash flow, Sponsor and/or Leverage Finance
Preferred
Bachelors in Business, Finance, Economics with courses relevant to business and financial analysis;Aviation lending, leasing, investement, advisory experienceThe completion of a formal credit training program is desired but not required.Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills;Excellent oral and written communications skills;Time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks with changing priorities;Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel and Power Point masteryAttention to detail; andDemonstrated team player able to learn (at times independently) and contribute

The base pay for the Underwriter III position is generally between $110,000 and $120,000. The base pay for the Underwriter IV position is generally between $130,000 and $150,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
