The Bus Driver is responsible for providing assistance and customer service while transporting program participants using a variety of vehicles, including buses. Transportation may be for regular route operations, charters, and private carriage and it may require assisting passengers with baggage, collecting fares or tickets.
Key Responsibilities
Inspects vehicles, and check gas, oil, and water levels prior to departure to ensure safe operation; makes minor repairs to vehicle and changes tires.Drives vehicles over specified routes or to specified destinations according to time schedules in order to transport passengers, complying with traffic regulations; reports delays or accidents; advises passengers to be seated and orderly while on vehicles; regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.Parks vehicles at loading areas so that passengers can board and may assist with luggage and other passenger needs.May collect fares or tickets; records cash receipts and ticket fares and handles according to established procedures.
Qualifications
Experience:
Six months to one year related experience is required.
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Licenses & Certifications:
A valid Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and a favorable driving record are required.
