The KSOM Finance Department is seeking a Business/Financial Data Analyst to join its team.
The Business/Financial Data Analyst will be responsible for financial modeling/reporting/analysis, budget/forecasting, data analysis and problem solving.
The Business/Financial Data Analyst will perform extensive data reconciliation, consolidation, and analysis for large quantities of financial data to create financial reports.The specific accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to
:Assist with monitoring financial activity at the school including budgets, reconciling accounts, forecasting/projections, and month/year-end process management.
Identifies problems or trends and evaluates for solutions.Develops and administers budgets for recruitment funding at the school. Tracks and reports on funding and expenditures.Evaluates and analyzes school-wide financial data; produces regular and ad-hoc and regular monthly financial reports. Evaluates and analyzes reports and data.
Develops conclusions and provides recommendations. Prepares briefings and presentation materials as needed.Reconciles financial data from multiple sources and makes correcting adjustments to ensure alignment.Liaison with programmers and departments to build reports and applications in KSOM’s BI reporting and applications.Performs other duties as assigned or requested.Preferred Skills and ExperiencePreferred Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree with at least 3-5 years of financial analysis experience and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel (pivot tables and charts, formulas, data validation), Access (creating tables, relationships/joining, queries, forms and reports), and PowerPoint.
Other skills include:Strong organizational, written/oral communication, and relationship-building skills.Prior experience in financial and budget reporting.Ability to follow through with assigned tasks within established time-frames and with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment; exceptional focus on attention to detail and accuracyKnowledge of government and fund accounting, clinical revenue, database, data analytics and university financial systems preferred.The hourly rate range for this position is $34.53 - $42.52.
