Job Title: BIM Detailer
Location: Palo Alto (CA), Lathrop (CA), Reno (NV) or Austin (TX)
Job Type: Contract to hire
What to Expect:
Self-Perform Construction is currently recruiting for an experienced BIM Detailer. You will support the concept, design, construction, and as-built documentation of a variety of new and renovation to existing industrial, R&D and office facilities across the Bay Area. The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex projects and can multi-task and collaborate technically with several disciplines. The BIM Detailer will work under the technical supervision Construction Managers, Engineers, and Architects.
What You'll Do: • Provide advanced drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining construction drawings and facilities layouts • Produce construction execution milestones for architectural, electrical, mechanical, and additional disciplines with guidance from construction managers • Lead implementation of custom, multi-system layered export of hanger system and integrate to Trimble / external hardware for hanger system layout and installation • Assemble construction level drawing packages with project construction managers, engineers, and construction managers • Develop simple to mid-level designs / layouts through fabrication level 3D models • Field surveys and as-built documentation • Develop and nurture custom Revit families, including creation/modifications of parametric families • Continuously pursue new technologies to improve projects' quality and timeline
What You'll Bring: • Advanced level knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, CAD Works, and BIM coordination • 2+ years of experience working on industrial, institutional, or R&D projects • Ability to quickly read and understand construction plans, schematics, and diagrams. • Ability to create construction fabrication shop drawings by interpreting and combining multiple sources of information in to one plan set. • Strong working knowledge of common construction materials and methods, especially within MEP divisions with understanding of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, Airflow Diagrams, and Electrical One Line Diagrams. • Comfort with accelerating projects via feedback from a multitude of internal project stakeholders. • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, communicate succinctly and clearly to multiple levels of the organization, and maintain effectiveness while working autonomously or collaboratively.
