Job Summary

Maintain uninterrupted supply of tooling to production department. Prepare Tool Kits; identify and find appropriate tooling requested by employees; evaluate condition and sort tools returned to the Tool Crib for re-cycling, re-sharpening, or scrapping; maintain safe, clean and orderly work environment in the Tool Crib area.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure that CNC Tooling supply is uninterrupted

• Prepare setup Tool Kits using Setup Schedule, Production Schedule, and Bill of Tools CN-FR-005

• Evaluate condition of returned Tooling, Gage Pins, and Pin Gage Sets and decide when to discard or repair worn out or damaged ones. Sort returned inserts for repeated internal use and outside carbide re-cycling program

• Maintain Tool Crib Tooling inventory to ensure that tools needed for scheduled orders are available or being ordered

• Perform monthly CNC Tooling Cost analysis and report to Manufacturing Manager

• Select, negotiate, and obtain quotes from multiple Tooling Suppliers

• Fill out and submit Purchase Requisitions for Tooling Supplies

• Maintain and analyze CNC Tooling Database on Intranet

• Create, maintain and standardize Bill of Tools Reports (Set-Up sheets with Tooling) on Intranet for all CNC parts

• Systematically review and document special tooling, replace with standard tooling when possible

• Assist company employees in choosing and locating right tools

• Check Tool Crib Pin Gage Sets inventory per CN-WI-002 procedure

• Eliminate clutter and maintain safe and clean working environment in the Tool Crib by timely placement of Tooling, Gage Pins, Pin Gage Sets, and other items into their locations in cabinets

• Communicate problems to the Manufacturing Manager with suggestions for solutions

• Perform other assignments given by the Manufacturing Manager

• Perform the job with minimal supervision

• Maintain friendly and cooperative relations with all internal customers

• Follow all company safety and environmental policies and procedures

• Due to the nature of the work, non-productive interaction with fellow employees must be kept to a minimum

Requirements

Qualifications

Education/Experience: -High School Diploma or equivalent

Language Skills: -Ability to understand, read and speak English (Basic Communication Skills) -Spanish language is helpful Mathematical Skills: -Basic Math Skills (measuring, use of calculator)

-Functional understanding on how to read engineering drawings

-Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers

-Own or purchase an eye loop for inspecting Tooling

-Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Database, and Outlook)

-Ability to organize and prioritize workability to learn new tasks quickly

-Ability and willingness to adapt to a changing environment

-Ability to get along with different personalities -Willingness to perform tasks beyond outlined work description Reasoning Ability: -Ability to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written and verbal instructions

-Advanced problem-solving skills

Physical Demands:

-Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds -When performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger or handle or feel objects and talk and hear -Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms -Employee is occasionally required to walk -Specific vision abilities require close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: -May work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to Vibration.

-Work in a machine shop environment where floors may be slippery due to oil spills, use of aqueous degreasing solution for floor cleanup, and metal chips

-Noise level is usually moderate for a manufacturing plant

-Work where a forklift is being operated
