Description

The Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies requests applications from qualified individuals for a Director of Clinical Academic Success position. The Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Science programs with a major in nursing have three tracks: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). The School also has an innovative Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing. The School also offers a Master of Science in Cardiovascular Sciences and Perfusion Medicine as well as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) combined with an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP). Reporting to the Dean of the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies, the Director of Clinical Academic Success will support the nursing programs by collaborating with the practice partners to secure clinical sites to assure full implementation of the clinical component of the nursing programs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Develops effective business relationships and facilitates clear communication with clinical and academic leadership.Secures clinical sites to assure full implementation of the clinical component of the nursing programs.Collaborates with course faculty to coordinate and arrange for the preceptorship experience.Facilitates and acts as a liaison between faculty, students, staff, and clinical sites including the Student Health Services.Identifies and formulates needed educational affiliation agreements and placements with all clinical facilities.Orients faculty to clinical supervision role.Collaborates with academic deans and program directors to monitor performance of supervising clinical faculty assigned to courses, providing feedback when needed.Disseminates student clinical requirements to all course faculty and students and acts as a resource for students who have clinical issues.Schedules, tracks, and assists in clinical placement process at all programmatic levels of the school.Evaluates students' readiness including physical exam, CPR, criminal background check, and immunizations/titers.Determines clinical placements and schedules for nursing students each semester in coordination with program directors and academic deans.Assists faculty with skills evaluation as needed.Engages in lifelong learning as evidenced by participation in professional and faculty development.Engages in community service above and beyond faculty requirements.Demonstrated progressive participation and leadership of national/international professional organizations.Maintains clinical/professional experience in the field of accreditation of undergraduate and graduate-level programs, namely Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and Council on the Accreditation of Anesthesia (COA) and Accreditation Committee-Perfusion Education (AC-PE).Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field and qualification as a nursing educator required.Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required as a registered nurse.Unencumbered NYS license as a registered nurse.Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, leadership, and time management skillsOutstanding computer skills are a must and include proficiency in Blackboard, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in an educational environment.Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree preferred.

Salary/Salary Range$85,000 - $105,000

Additional InformationHofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
