Children's Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System and the Division of Pediatric Cardiology is a model for patient and family care that focuses on teamwork, collaboration and dedication in clinical care, teaching, mentoring and research.
Chief Purpose of this position:
VCU Medical Center and the Children's Hospital joined together in July 2010, forming the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU. Together, we are a full-service Children's Hospital that offers a robust continuum of pediatric services, research, and education. The Children's Hospital of Richmond and the School of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University are committed to the continued growth of the Pediatric Cardiology Division. This growth has led to the need for another cardiologist with training in non-invasive imaging. This individual will focus on growing our robust fetal heart center as well as increasing clinical need for interpretation of Cardiac CT's and MRI's.
Position Responsibilities:Clinical:
The candidate will be responsible for taking the lead in interpretation of cardiac CT's and MRIs in addition to other advanced Pediatric Non-Invasive Imaging modalities. Additionally, they may be called on to perform other duties in Pediatric Cardiology at the discretion of the Chief of the Division.Teaching:
The faculty member will have the responsibility of teaching all learners in the area of Pediatric Cardiology with special focus on Cardiac CT and MRI interpretation as well as other forms of Non-Invasive imaging. The candidate will provide guidance and mentorship to sonographers, students, residents, fellows, and faculty in the area of Pediatric Cardiology.Research:
The faculty member is asked, but not required to participate in clinical and/or basic science research.Service:
Faculty member will serve on departmental, School of Medicine or National committees when appropriate. They will also be required to maintain all certifications applicable to the successful operation of Cardiac CT and MRI interpretation.
Required Qualifications:
Board Eligible or Certified in Pediatrics and CardiologyExperience with clinical care of patients with congenital cardiac diseaseEligibility to hold a non-restricted medical license in VirginiaAdvanced training in Cardiac CT and MRI interpretationExperience with education of patients, family members, the community, and learnersA strong desire to perform clinical or basic science researchExcellent leadership skillsDemonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCUPreferred Qualifications:
Leadership of a diverse group of individualsExceptional skills in Pediatric Non-Invasive Imaging
