Infection Prevention & Control Manager
to our talented team of Infection Preventionists.Job SummaryThe Manager of Infection Prevention and Control, assist the executive director in everyday activities of the department, train new staff, help performing competencies to current staff, policies update and revision, work with the director on ensuring organization is in compliance with JC, CMS, DPH and other accreditors.Job ResponsibilitiesInteracts with physicians, nurses, department managers, supervisors, occupational health, and other professional/nonprofessionalstaff members to provide resource information, resolve infection control problems, and identify new opportunities to improve service, ensure patient safety, and reduce costs.Coordinates and enforces effectual policies and procedures for the department and hospital that ensures compliance with TJC, OSHA, CDC, CMS, and other county, state, and federal regulatory agencies.Directs and assists in ensuring infection reports and statistical data for the infection control committee, medical staff committees, and the facility's administration and other committees as needed, is up to date.Provides education and remediating when appropriate on topics related to infection control.Makes recommendations utilizing the Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) process regarding construction, renovation, environmental rounds, and assures compliance with national and/or professional standards.The Infection Prevention and Control Manager is responsible for the daily management of the infection prevention and control department under the direction of the department director this to include; train new staff, help performing competencies to current staff, policies update and revision, education of hospital personnel, clinical and medical schools' orientation, consultation with the organization and county and state health departments. The responsibilities encompass compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, CMS, OSHA, CDC, state regulations, and outbreak investigation.Oversee the application of information technology and management systems and assures maintenance of these systems to support surveillance programs.Coordinates the infection control program throughout the facility. Implements the program by formulating, establishing, and evaluating policies and procedures relating to patient care infection control measures throughout the facility.Perform all other duties as assigned.
EducationBachelors degree in Science, Health or related field
requiredMasters in Public Health
preferred
ExperienceFive (5) or more years' clinical experience or disease surveillance experience in a hospital setting

Skills/Cert/LicensesCertification in Infection Control (CIC)
required
prior to hireDemonstrated knowledge of microbiology and infectious diseases with an in-depth understanding of the principles of epidemiology and biostatisticsKnowledge of the CDC, NHSN, DPH and Joint Commission regulations/standards.
