The Personal Lines - Senior Underwriter position can be filled from any of our office locations in Roseville, CA, Monterey, CA, Bakersfield, CA, or Reno, NV.
Job Overview
The primary role of this position is to review and analyze Personal Lines insurance submissions, applications and renewal business within established underwriting guidelines and procedures for our Personal Auto, Homeowner, Dwelling Fire and Personal Excess portfolio. Additionally, the Senior Underwriter will contribute to underwriting profitability by working with the Product and Sales departments on special projects, agency management and profitability as the opportunity arises.
Requirements
Advanced knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures, as well as knowledge of personal insurance lines of business including product features, forms, regulatory environments, and risks.Analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to exercise judgement, negotiate, and make sound decisions effectively.Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge with experience in handling all Personal Lines coverages.Excellent proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge of other Microsoft programs a plus.Must have good verbal and written communication skills.Strong process orientation, excellent interpersonal skills, and collaboration skills.Demonstrated ability to complete complex underwriting assignments.Ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing business environment.Detail oriented and ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines and achieving expected levels of quality and accuracy.Technical proficiency in underwriting/rating systems.Bachelor's degree is preferred, or the equivalent of education and insurance experience.Six (6) plus years of experience in Personal Lines underwriting.CPCU or comparable designations preferred, as is a commitment for continuing insurance education.Occasional travel, which may require overnight stays.
Salary Range : $60,122 - $99,201
The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as benefits and bonus programs.
