The Director of First Line of Defense Risk for Operations has overall responsibility to provide risk advisory services for Customer Service, Customer Complaints Resolution, Fraud Operation, Credit Operations, Collections/Recovery, Credit Reporting, and other Back Office operations functions in GreenSky. This strategic role focuses on operational and compliance risks for the Operations organization, including promotion of risk-aware culture in the first line.

The Director role will provide consultative guidance to support risk identification, assessment and quantification, aggregation reporting, monitoring, management and control improvement. This role also focuses on ensuring the risk management framework, processes and practices executed comply with internal GreenSky policies, Regulatory requirements and expectations specific to Operations.

This role reports into Senior Vice President of Business Transformation, Operations Risk and Governance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Collaborates across Operations organization, to build, synthesize and communicate a comprehensive view of risk to Operations management.Promote a risk-aware culture as a Risk champion; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.Works with line of Operational business leaders/Process Owners to define, create and implement necessary controls leveraging industry framework such as RCSA which include high-level Process Mapping, Risk & Control Matrices, Inherent Risk Assessments, Internal Control testing and Issue Management data/inputHelps identify root causes of control deficiencies/weaknesses and take appropriate action to ensure Process Owners remediate and prevent recurrenceProvides day-to-day support to Operations Executives/Process Owners by offering knowledge and expertise on the appropriate implementation of Regulations, Rules and industry standards through procedures, other guidelines, and industry best practicesAudit Exam Management: Liaison with Operations process and control owners for necessary exam related activities including 2nd Line Compliance Testing, and Internal AuditIdentify process optimization/improvement opportunities to reduce operational risk due to manual work and human error by adding automation thereby enhancing the control environmentLead governance routines to report and escalate as necessary to executive management and other risk partners while driving a cultural awareness of risk management practicesProvides hands-on leadership to process and control ownersBuilds and develops a strong Operational Risk and Governance teamRequired Skills/Qualifications

8+ years' experience Risk management experience from working in financial services industry.Experience in an organization that is under strong regulatory oversight and scrutiny.Expert knowledge of internal controls and risk assessmentProven ability to develop and maintain high impact relationships.Experience in bank/financial service operationsDecisiveness and sound judgment on a consistent basisCapacity to challenge status quoInfluencing and conflict resolution skillsExcellent business writing skillsProven leadership and management skills in a professional environmentThe ORG Director preferably has knowledge/awareness of Key Consumer Banking/Financial Services regulations such as Telephone Collections Practices Act (TCPA), Fair Dept Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Truth in Lending (Reg Z), Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), The Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and other regulations enforced by the OCC, CFPB and FDIC.Proficient use of MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint and VisioEducation, Certifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Accounting, Business, Statistics, Risk Management, Information Systems, Finance, Economics or equivalent field.Master's degree in accounting, Business, Statistics, Risk Management, Information Systems, Finance, Economics or equivalent field is a plusCertifications Preferred but not Required.

Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP)Project Management Professional (PMP)Certification in Risk and Information System ControlsAmerican Bankers Association certificates in Risk management
