Executive Director - General Manager (GM)
to join our Scranton, PA Team.

Summary:
We are currently seeking an Executive Director, GM to oversee our Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA) - Scranton / Wilkes-Barre, PA manufacturing and production operations. A successful General Manager will provide strong leadership, world class safety, strategic direction, and a discipline of execution to facilitate fast-paced business growth objectives. We seek a leader with proven Executive presence that can lead through GD-OTS core values to drive a culture built on the foundation of safety and integrity, with a passion for innovation and execution, achieved through teamwork, respect and accountability.
Manages a business unit with responsibility for budgets and profitability. Has P&L responsibility. Plans, coordinates and manages the allocation of resources (e.g., people, equipment) to deliver timely results | May manage the development and implementation of general operating policies, processes and procedures for the organization and lead special projects in multiple areas.
Major Position Responsibilities
Responsible for strategy and planning to align business operations with the company's mission and goals
Researches and analyzes industry and competitive trends to identify emerging market opportunities and strategic areas of interest
Identifies and prioritizes product and service improvement opportunities and creates plans for implementation
Develops complex forecasting models, budgets, resource allocations, plans for projects and oversees profit and loss alongside company initiatives
Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of company's internal operations to develop forward-looking focus for business
Owns short to mid-term (1-3 years) strategy execution and operational direction
Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership
Basic QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Associate's Degree
OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
12-15 years’ experience in a relevant function
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or related field
Master's Degree preferred.
Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role relevant to the operation of a product development and manufacturing business
Experience within the defense industry with working knowledge of munitions, associated platforms, strategic and tactical systems, and military munitions/platform interface requirements
Government contracts experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and procedures of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments
Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface
Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines
Strong written, digital and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment
Looks for ways to improve and promote quality
Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly
Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety
Decisions are guided by policy, procedures and business plan
Consistent exercise of discretion and judgment

Experience in planning and budgeting
Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
Other Requirements:
Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools
Represent GD-OTS to the public (including elected officials), the customers, and to other General Dynamics locations both orally and in writing to provide information on NEPA, and to promote GD-OTS within the community and industry
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25-50% of time, including possible international travel
