Basic Purpose of This Job:Under the guidance of the Department Manager and the Director of Education the Clinical Nurse Educator collaborates with nursing management and staff across departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested. The incumbent acts as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff. The Clinical Nurse Educator implements a comprehensive education program for his/her assigned units and clinics. Educational programs typically include, but are not limited to orientation, continuing education and in-services. Other services may include, but are not limited to process, performance and service-delivery consultation and contributions to the organization through ad-hoc or permanently established councils, committees and workgroups.This is a working Educator role and will require that 50% of assigned hours be spent in staffing.Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:Education - Per RN licensure requirement. MSN preferred. BSN within 3 years of hire
Two years experience working in acute care nursing.Current Texas nursing license or compact. BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting. ACLS is required. National Certification preferred.Must be clinically competent in area of population served. Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel. Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate team leadership. Must have the ability to problem solve and think critically.
