The CDL HazMat Driver for Flying A Cement and Acid is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of hazardous materials, such as cement and acid, to and from well site locations. The driver ensures compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations regarding hazardous materials transportation and maintains the assigned vehicle in excellent condition.
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
Safely operate a commercial vehicle with a Class A CDL and HazMat endorsement to transport hazardous materials.Load and unload cement and acid using proper procedures to ensure safety and accuracy.Deliver materials to well sites, ensuring on-time and accurate deliveries in coordination with operations teams.Adhere to all DOT regulations, including hours of service, pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintaining accurate logbooks.Conduct routine maintenance checks on assigned vehicle, report any mechanical issues, and ensure the vehicle is clean and operational.Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and well site personnel to ensure smooth operations and resolve any delivery issues.Perform safe handling and transfer of hazardous materials following all safety protocols, including PPE use and spill containment procedures.Complete and maintain accurate records of deliveries, driver logs, and required documentation.Participate in safety meetings and training programs to stay up-to-date with regulatory and industry standards.Respond to emergencies such as spills or mechanical breakdowns by following company safety protocols.Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HazMat and Tanker endorsements.Minimum of 2 years of experience in CDL driving, preferably in the oil and gas industry.Experience with the transportation of hazardous materials.Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.Clean driving record with no major violations in the last three years.Ability to lift heavy materials and operate loading/unloading equipment.Strong communication skills and attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Working Conditions:
Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.Long term physical fitness for duty to maintain all licenses and certifications of fitness as required by regulatory agencies and licensing entities (DMV, FAA, DOT, et cetera).Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.Determine the distance between objects.React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
