We offer EXCELLENT benefits, Scheduling Flexibility, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Discounts and much more!!!Under the supervision of the Director of Imaging Services, the physician liaison provides clerical and communication support to the Radiologists in their daily interactions with the Medical staff and key stake holders. Daily activities will include establishing contacts between the Radiologists and the Medical Staff, collection of PI data for presentation to medical staff committees, collection and distribution of billing and other data, ongoing monitoring of PACS data and transcription support to assure completion of imaging reports in a timely manner. Make daily reminder calls to scheduled patients and give them any additional instructions as needed.Responsibilities

Respond to phone inquiries in an appropriate and timely manner. Communicates with physician offices, nursing units, radiologists, technical staff, and ordering physicians to facilitate completion of exams. Provides support in establishing contacts with the Medical Staff to assure timely communication with the Radiologists. Works closely with the Image Library Team to assure a two way communication and support to medical staff. Provides support ij establishing contacts with the medical staff to assure timely communication with the Radiologists.Monitors report queue and expedites completion and faxing of final report. Takes actions required to complete reports on pending log. Informs Radiologists of Emergency Department and other Stat requests for immediate interpretation. Fax reports to referring physicians offices as requested. Works well with various department team leaders to improve verification and documentation requirements.Monitors reporting of Critical Values by the Radiologists and documents timeliness based on Joint Commission standards. Assures daily distribution of billing data to the Radiologists professional practice. Functions as first line support to radiologists in identifying and resolving issues related to digitally dictated imaging reports. Provide monthly data for both QA and PI meetings as directed.Works with PACS Administrators and assists in the smooth operation of the day to day activities of the Image Library such as daily assignments, lunches, breaks, and coverage in all areas. Keeps the supervisor informed of pending issues. Supports the overall department clerical function by assuming the role of Radiology Intake Rep, Image Library Tech and/or Department Secretary as required.Checks workspace inventory and replenish supplies as needed. Notify supervisor if inventory supplies need replenishment. Performs duties assigned by department, manager, and/or Director on assigned projects. Participate in orientation and training of new employees. Upload prior studies into PACS that were performed at other facilities for Radiologist comparisons. Locate films in film archive and arrange transport to appropriate locations. Monitors dictation system, PACS, and RIS for outstanding exams requiring interpretation. Make daily reminder calls to scheduled patients and give them any additional instructions as needed. Participates and completes required E-Learning modules as assigned. Strives to achieve established Service Level Agreements for his/her respective team.Print reports, films and/or CD/DVDs based on Outpatient, Emergency Department and Inpatient requests. Validate information on reports, films, and CD/DVDs being released to patients are correct. Appropriately log release requests and fill in release forms with all required information. Validate that information is being released to appropriate person. Ensures final reports, films, CD/DVDs are mailed to appropriate physicians and/or patients in a timely manner.Effectively and efficiently performs the scheduling process for all invasive studies. Schedules Radiologist's consultations and prepares patient files for Radiologists review. Correlates patient data and provides files to radiologists for scheduled exams.Other duties and/or projects as assigned.Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.Demonstrate a strong background in office procedures, possess excellent telephone and interpersonal skills and have the ability to multi-task. Prior experience working closely with physicians and establishing professional relationships a must.Ability to manage and enter data into information system.
