The estimated salary range for this position is $80,089 - $112,125 annually.

Manage, provide support to, develop, coach, and motivate staff to meet performance, service, and Bethpage strategic goals. Foster a team driven by service and efficiency through leadership and training. Supervise activities to ensure adherence to policy, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Build and execute a plan for individual and team education, growth and performance.

Oversee the BSA/AML department’s daily operational functions (CTRs, SARs, continuing SARs, AML referrals and alerts, OFAC/sanction alerts, etc.) and provide direct support to the employees handling these functions. Create and review reports for monitoring team efficacy and deliverables and to identify new and emerging AML trends. Collaborate with team and management to investigate issues and create efficiencies.

Develop an initial and ongoing training program that will set expectations and increase understanding BSA/AML investigations, schemes, and requirements for compliant investigations and findings. Ensure the team’s compliance in alert or referral, case, and SAR/SAR refile disposition, investigation, and submission. This includes implementing review and reporting processes that promote the required level of investigation and research, consistent decisions, and complete and detailed documentation.

Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory BSA/AML and OFAC updates or changes and identify any related risk(s) or implication(s) for Bethpage. Report important compliance developments to BSA Officer. Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) when requested or as required. Draft policies, procedures and educational communications associated with AML. Assist in the development of AML & risk management training and conduct said training as needed.

Be an active partner in the review, implementation, and validation of the rule sets that govern Bethpage’s suspicious activity model. Detect and evaluate internal control weaknesses, and operational processes to ensure Bethpage is meeting all applicable regulatory and policy requirements. Must be able to identify issues that would impact department functions and requirements as they arise and recommend and implement resolutions.

Leverage relationships as liaison with internal and external business partners, the consortium, and other financial institutions to facilitate best practice and information-sharing opportunities, identification of AML trends. Further develop current vendor relationships and foster new vendor relationships.

Lend support to the completion of various risk assessments, including the annual BSA/AML risk assessment, model validation and threshold tuning, and audit or exam requests as needed.

Computer Skills:

Windows, Internet proficient, and MS Excel and Word skills. Fiserv DNA and Verafin skills preferred.

Certifications:

Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or a related certification required; Advanced CAMS-Risk Management Certification is a plus
