STATEMENT OF JOB:

The Executive Director shall have full responsibility for the operation and management of the community and for all marketing, business, and financial functions of the community in accordance with the policies of the management company, the Owners, and Federal/State/Local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Human Resources:

Oversee all hiring practices to ensure that the facility is in compliance with local, state and federal lawsApprove all hires and terminationsEnsure that staff is hired within budgetary guidelinesOversee an effective orientation and in-service training program in compliance with company guidelinesOversee an effective employee recognition program in compliance with company guidelinesSeek out and utilize community resources and support services, such as behavioral health providers, home health agencies, and professional senior service groups, to enhance resident careDemonstrate good customer service and the "Harmony Attitude" at all timesOversee a weekend manager-on-duty programStaff Meetings:

Oversee Daily Stand-Up Meeting (15 minutes) to include brief updates from each department head on the day's events/needsOversee Weekly department head meeting (Once per month this meeting is devoted to safety issues)Oversee monthly full staff meetings to include employee recognition and in-service trainingConduct one-on-one meetings with department heads as neededConduct weekly in-house care plan meeting with HCC, CNA/Med Tech, Dietary rep to identify resident changes and update ISP's if necessaryFinancial Management:

Participate in preparation of the community budgetTrain all department heads on maintaining a budget by utilizing budget spend down sheets and oversee budgetary compliance in each departmentReview monthly financials with all department heads and prepare a variance report in keeping with company guidelines. Develop plans of correction as neededMaintain oversight of all financial monitoring tools/reports review with appropriate personnelLead approval process for all contracts for any services in the communityApprove and initial all A/P invoicesReview daily staffing tool to ensure that hourly staffing is within budgetReview A/R each month and ensure appropriate follow-up for all delinquent accountsRegulatory Issues:

Comply with all local/state/federal regulations and stay aware of relevant changes and updatesPlan for and manage the survey process and prepare all plans of correctionMaintain good relations with Local/State regulatory agenciesParticipate in industry organizations to stay abreast of local/state/federal issues/trendsRequirement

Risk Management:

Oversee the completion of all risk assessments and necessary family and physician communication for at-risk residentsOversee corporate and state compliance with incident reporting guidelinesEnsure all staff, residents, and visitors follow established safety regulations to include: fire safety/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etcMarketing:

Maintain or exceed budgeted occupancyOversee the development and implementation of the marketing plan:Co-chair the marketing team and participate in all meetingsEnsure successful use of all marketing tracking systemsReview all marketing reportsMake at least three outreach referral contacts weekly and attend local networking groups monthlyConduct marketing tours to prospects as needed

Resident and Family Relations:

Sustain good resident relations through daily visits; monitor resident and family moraleOversee monthly Resident Council MeetingsOversee Resident and Family Grievance ProcessOversee resident move-in process to ensure smooth transition for all new residents and their familiesOversee resident satisfaction survey program and call families to address any concerns noted or when a survey is not returnedOversee Family Email ProgramOversee community/family eventsCoordinate discharge planning with resident/family/HCC and marketingEnsure enforcement of Resident Bill of RightsEnvironment/Physical Plant:

Make daily rounds to ensure that the building is clean and furniture is placed appropriatelyOversee the routine and preventative maintenance programsOversee Capital Improvement projects as neededConduct weekly community walk-through with Maintenance DirectorRequirements:

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience working as an Executive DirectorMust hold current administrative license for the state in which the position is locatedDemonstrated success managing all aspects of senior community operationsStrong sales leadershipAbility to build relationships with community groups that will help grow censusStrong customer service skills with ability to problem solveAbility to lead a management team and promote staff developmentDemonstrated record of financial management proficiencyAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyThorough knowledge of state/federal regulationsTo ensure timely response to community emergencies on weekends or after hours, Executive Director must live within a thirty (30) mile radius of their assigned community.Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekendsMust be able to lift, carry, and push up to 25lbs
