Background on the Position:
The Accountant role is part of the Investment Management Finance (IM Finance) team, dedicated to supporting Client, a leading global asset manager across public and private markets. The successful candidate will join the Distribution Finance Team based in Boston, focusing on accounting, finance, and process transformation. Responsibilities include managing distribution expense processes for the company's broker-dealer, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 internal controls, identifying risks and controls, and conducting monthly/quarterly reconciliations.
Primary Responsibilities:Support the month-end accounting process by preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reports.Analyze financial data and provide variance analysis to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.Ensure internal control practices comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, internal policies, and applicable regulations.Assist with internal and external audits during interim and year-end processes.Contribute to special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.Qualifications:
Preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting.1-2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the financial services industry.Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.Solid knowledge of internal controls.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP general ledger software and Hyperion Essbase is a plus.Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
