BE CONSIDERED IN DETERMINING YOUR QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION.The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for a 911 Systems Analyst to perform a variety of complex technical work in systems analysis for 911 Communication systems and develop and maintain the administration of division databases. Work is performed under the general direction of the Assistant 911 Communications Manager - Operations.Responsible for the first line maintenance and management of the 911 infrastructure to include all critical systems. Performs professional level tasks in support of the development, programming, and operations of the management systems for 911 Communications. On-call after hours, to provide support.System administrator for Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software; analyze issues with software programs to determine cause and rectify or escalate to the Information Technology (IT) department; program CAD codes to classify calls for service, recommend appropriate unit responses and prioritize by level of emergency, analyze automatic vehicle locator (AVL) needs for Public Safety Departments; coordinate with other departments to ensure code tables interface for all agencies; and perform other related activities.Analyze issues with ProQA software programs to determine cause in order to rectify and/or escalate to the IT department; coordinate, in conjunction with IT and with vendors for required updates and maintenance; program ProQA codes to correctly classify incidents and interface with CAD.System administrator for 911 audio logging recorder system: ensure that radio and phone trunk channel allocation is current and meets the needs of all departments served; create and maintain user accounts. Coordinate with external vendors to ensure continuous 911 audio logging recording system operations.Consult and work with users to define database programming needs; make recommendations on applications, tests and documents outcome; work with users on implementation issues. Assist in equipment upgrade and purchasing selection process.Perform an advisory or leadership role, in conjunction with IT, in the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of new technology. Coordinate staff, contractors, or other outside resources in the development and implementation of systems applications and operations. Work with management to determine needs and acquire equipment, software, applications and contractual resources.Assist the Radio Communications Technician with installation, repair, programming and maintenance of radio communications and equipment for the City of Fayetteville.Perform first level troubleshooting and maintenance of all E911 and Nexgen911 systems, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, generators and 911 furniture mechanisms.Design, develop and conduct training on current information systems technology and for new system and hardware implementations or significant updates.Experience:
Two years of increasingly responsible experience in Information Technology, experience with 911 Systems is preferred.Training:
Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Computer Science, Networking, Information Systems, or a related field.LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS:Required:
Must be able to pass a North Carolina Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) security screening within thirty (30) days of hire.Preferred:
None.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:This position is subject to pre-employment polygraph and/or CVSA testing.From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last approximately 4 - 6 weeks.
