The Application Analyst will serve as an intermediate level functional expert and is responsible for the workflow configurations, support, and any ongoing build efforts including upgrades, and modifications for EPIC Prelude/Cadence and other applications required by the healthcare system. This position will also be responsible for specific aspects of assigned projects, will research system problems, refer problems as required to vendors, assist in training users on assigned software and will work with various departments to ensure satisfaction with their systems. The Application Analyst provides outstanding customer service and contributes to the organization's mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care and ensure revenue integrity.Responsibilities:
Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned applications and department functionsInstall EPIC applications, new components, and upgrade existing applicationsCommunicate configurations and application settings to key stakeholdersAssist with determining how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the usersAnalyze business/clinical needs and requirementsEvaluate the operational workflow applied to the systemCreate system specifications from user requirementsCoordinate workflow documentation and integration with applications collaborating with key stakeholders and operational subject matter expertsParticipate in the planning and implementation of system infrastructure changes (change control, system upgrades, copy/restore events, application of service packs, downtimes)Participate in full life-cycle system testing; develop test scripts, coordinate the setup of the testing environment, execute testing scripts, identify issues, and coordinate issue resolutionCollaborate with the Epic Cogito and reporting team to develop and support requested reporting for key stakeholdersLead demonstrations of applications and functionalities within applications to peers, end users and leadersCoordinate the deployment of changes and environmental readiness in support of work efforts following defined COA Change Control workflowsParticipate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to usersMaintain system protocols – adhering to best practices of COA and the industryParticipate in policy and procedure development as it relates to security, downtime, backup operations and disaster recovery activitiesAdminister application-level security and access controls in conjunction with IT Provisioning teamProvide timely, effective, and professional customer supportProvide application troubleshooting support EPIC and other applications. Resolve the issue, forward it to the correct group for remediation, or elevate it to the vendor if requiredCreate, monitor, and work assigned incidents to resolution. Initiate and coordinate troubleshooting with team members and peers for known issuesPerform regular on-call rotation and coverage as assignedCross-train and mentor new team members and end usersParticipate in ongoing professional development to maintain credentialsPerform all other related duties as assignedPreferred Qualifications:
College degree or relevant experience3-5 years healthcare experience in revenue cycle or patient accessEpic certification in one of the revenue cycle applications; Cadence, Resolute, or HIM
