We are seeking a talented and motivated Sr. Automation Software Engineer to join our team.In this role, you will be directly responsible for the development, maintenance and lifecycle support of complex customized software and database solutions solving production and engineering needs. You will utilize technical expertise, communication and collaboration skills to analyze, recommend and lead complex solutions to enhance new and existing processes utilizing modern software platforms and data analytic software solutions. Responsibilities include providing operational support, complex troubleshooting, and optimization for automation equipment, directing and coordinating activities to improve reliability, and applying advanced engineering and computerized system principles to the design and implementation of new equipment.Key Responsibilities:Develops technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Updates and maintains complex customized software solutions, databases, and automated tools requiring coordination across multiple organizations to enhance operational and engineering efficiencies.Research new software technologies relative to automation software solutions that could be utilized to improve business and engineering processes. Analyze, compare and select software best suited for various applications. Provides solutions which are highly innovative.Leads technical computerized projects involving plan creation, design, specification, installation, startup and validation of computerized automation systems and upgrades. Ensure site specifications, standards and cGMP compliance expectations are met and that good engineering practices are followed.Runs complex group projects with minimal direction - identify, propose and champion creative and constructive solutions articulating the business value created. Represent organization as prime technical contact relative to software solutions championed and applies extensive technical expertise while demonstrating a full knowledge of other related disciplines. Facilitates functional forums for the site, regionally, and globally.Troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems to resolve complex equipment issues. Provides engineering expertise and technical guidance to maintenance to perform repairs, design changes, or other corrections as a result of troubleshooting or performance evaluation.Develop calibration, preventative maintenance and additional procedures in support of systems and instruments installed.Identify continuous improvement activities relative to automation control and software systems throughout the site and champion solutions aligned with site and department metrics, Business Objectives and Strategy. Identify areas of opportunity to improve equipment and component reliability.Mentor peers and site resources on automation software systems of production equipment. Provide training and technical supervision to instrumentation and electrical personnel as well as Flow technicians for automation systems throughout the site.Qualifications:We value the skills and experiences candidates bring to the table. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an additional four years of experience is required in the below areas of engineering.

6+ years of experience in all areas of process control systems encompassing automation software solutions, instrumentation, automated controls, and electrical distribution, preferably in the chemical, food, or pharmaceutical industries.Strong skills in network and system administration of Microsoft based systems.Demonstrated computer skills, including but not limited to, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and AutoCAD.Proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and initiatives.Represents organization as prime technical contact in developed custom software solutions presenting to site leadership.Willingness to travel to domestic, international supplier sites and training (typically less than 5% of the time).Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance when necessary, including off-shift on-call support rotation.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience in programming/troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Experience with Allen-Bradley, and Siemens S7 PLCs is preferred.Strong skills developing complex customized automation software solutions using Inductive Automation Ignition, Visual Studio, SQL, and MLServer is preferred.Strong skills in programming and configuration of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems; experience with Wonderware products is preferred.What We Offer:Annual performance bonus, commission, and share potentialAuto enrollment in a Hikma-sponsored 401(k) program at a pre-tax contribution rate of 3% of eligible pay.
