We are looking for a rockstar SDE to help us realize this vision.Complexity of SSD supply-chain network grows exponentially, requiring innovative approaches in modeling, storing, validating, and processing billions of records. Our technical challenges involve improvement of pipeline runtimes and storage, achieving operational excellence using audits and early-warning systems, optimizing EMR-Spark for data-processing and compute, and optimizing relational and non-relational data storage/processing systems to enable a supply chain network at Amazon scale evolving at Amazon speed. Get ready for SQL and NoSQL databases, Big Data analytics, distributed systems, map reduce, complex business logic, and highly-optimized multithreaded code on the edge of capabilities.We are looking for a candidate who will help us break down barriers, build smart and scalable big-data systems to give Amazon customers even faster and cheaper delivery. A Senior Software Engineer in our team is a key contributor to our success, setting appropriate engineering culture and best practices, delivering strategic engineering vision while raising the bar on software quality, fostering data-driven decision-making.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Bellevue, WA, USABasic Qualifications5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering teamPreferred Qualifications5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
