AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) provides horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users with the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that drive AWS services. The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Biometric Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for retail, sports, travel, and other verticals.Amazon WorkDocs is a cloud-based document storage and sharing service with strong administrative controls and feedback capabilities. It aims to be the simple, secure, and cost-effective cloud-based document management service, serving as a home for all conversations, collaboration, and activity surrounding user/team/organization documents. To enable our vision and meet customer demands, we are looking for strong software developers to join our mission and build new features while leveraging AI/ML technologies to enhance the document writing and reviewing experience.As a Software Development Engineer on the Amazon WorkDocs Service team, you will:Design, develop and support a world-class search platform serving individuals and businesses of all sizes.Produce robust, efficient, and maintainable code; primary languages are Java, Python, React, and C/C++.Work on challenging problems in data storage, query optimization, JVM performance optimization, security, machine learning, and more.Challenge existing processes and explore changes to best meet evolving customer needs.Possess expert knowledge in large-scale distributed system design and engineering best practices.Participate in setting a vision and objectives for Search Services in alignment with customer needs and market opportunities.Drive and work on algorithm and architecture design, execute, and deliver results.Invent the future of search and log analytics in the cloud.Join a motivated group of top-notch individuals to solve challenging problems in a collaborative environment.About the team: We have built WorkDocs using other AWS Products for storage, workflows, compute, messaging, analytics, and more. Our customers use our product through various channels - web, mobile, and desktops.
