Job Description:The Role
Platform engineering is looking for the next front-end engineer to join our web platform team. You will partner with the members of your squad to deliver outstanding customer experiences and set the direction for front end engineering excellence within Fidelity’s web platform. As a member of the team, you will architect, build, test, and design components, capabilities, tools, and products to enable digital squads working within typescript workspaces. You will provide guidance and technical expertise within your existing squad and across squads within the wider Fidelity technical organization.
The Team
The workspace web platform team focuses on creating a unified developer experience across Fidelity and will be involved in the hands-on creation of standardized tools for testing frameworks, developer environments, bundler and build system implementations, CI jobs, client libraries for observability and experimentation, editor integrations, and REST + GraphQL implementations. Our goal is to create an environment that empowers productive development without compromising quality. The team will directly impact the productivity and experience of front-end developers across multiple product areas.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
4+ years hands-on experience as front-end software engineer using modern JavaScript frameworks, especially Angular.
1+ years of using Nx workspace and strong familiarity with monorepos.
Experience preparing design artifacts, and implementing solutions for agile teams.
Robust critical thinking skills coupled with a desire for growth, to learn and to engage with peers in technical and design discussions.
A long-term mentality to help produce scalable, maintainable solutions.
Learn quickly, adapt and thrive to meet the needs of a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop technology associates.
Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
Your background:
Angular, Typescript, HTML, CSS, SCSS, JavaScript.
GraphQL.
REST API.
NX Workspace or other monorepo.
Jest, Playwright, Cypress.
Web Components, Component Architecture.
Storybook or other component discovery.
GIT, Jenkins (Or similar Build Tooling, e.g. Circle CI, GitHub), Node.js.
Managing Shared Libraries, Working with design systems.
Helpful but not required:
WCAG 2.1+ and AA/AAA Standards.
