Columbus, OHRelocation assistance providedThe NiSource IT organization is accountable for all NiSource systems, including all Customer, Corp, and Technology Domains.The Lead Data Architect plays a crucial role in creating high-quality data assets to support business requirements. In this role you will collaborate with business, IT, and data & analytics teams to understand their data needs and designs optimized structures.Ideally the Lead Data Architect's models reduce redundancy, streamline data flow, and enhance enterprise data management. While leveraging best practices, you will create timely, reliable, and scalable data products.Overall the Lead Data Architect will also work with EA leadership, business leaders, and service providers to develop and implement data architecture strategies, as well as developing methodologies and processes to ensure compliance to those strategies.Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Translate business requirements into technology requirements and define data standards and principles.Design the enterprise data management framework.Analyze and translate business needs into long-term solution data models.Design & implement effective database solutions and models for storing and retrieving company data.Implement data strategies and developing physical data models.Lead data modeling strategy for complex projects from start to finish.Identify database structural necessities by evaluating business operations, applications, and programming.Provide architectural leadership on the design and development of a solution for the NiSource enterprise.Drive the translation of the business client's complex business problems into the selected technology solutions by designing complete solutions that leverage various IT services components.Create architecture documentation and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle of the solutions.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience8+ years of experience functioning as a Data Architect5+ years of experience designing and implementing database solutions.5+ years of experience physical and relational data modeling5+ years of experience in data warehousing and data lake architecturePreferred QualificationsExperience building and optimizing big-data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.Outstanding problem solving.Understanding of best practices in Data Warehousing and Data Lake architectureStrong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.Understanding of agile methodologies and experience on a cross-functional agile team.Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools.Experience deploying and maintaining code with version control tools.Familiarity with the standards and best practices bodies i.e. ITIL, CoBIT, CMMi, Six Sigma/LEAN etc.Work AuthorizationAuthorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.Inclusion & DiversityValue inclusion within your day to day responsibilities by respecting others perspectives/convictions, engaging others opinions, creating a safe environment where people, ideas, and opinions are valued within your Team/Customers and external partners.Respect and take into consideration diversity within your Team/Customers and external work partners by valuing different world views, challenges, and cultures that represent all walks of life and all backgrounds.Treat others with respect and consideration.
