Here you are supported, here you are celebrated, here you can thrive.Your New Role...The purpose of this position is to serve as a Lead Engineer for our Broadcast IT engineering department during live productions as well as provide guidance to team members for the day-to-day operations to include: Incident response, service requests, diagnose systemic problems, scheduling preventative maintenance, and training. The areas of responsibility are studios, production control rooms, record and playout servers, augmented and virtual reality systems, remote production (REMI), artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies all within a state-of-the-art SMPTE 2110 native facility for linear and OTT streaming services. This position requires proven leadership, organizational processes, technical depth, and operational knowledge. This person is also expected to show flexibility in shift work and maintain an on-call rotation outside of the production schedule. Occasional travel between WBD sites may be required. The skill set demanded by this position is dynamic and will continue to change rapidly. This individual must demonstrate the ability to accept and adapt to these changes while presenting a willing and positive attitude.Your Role Accountabilities...Senior engineer responsible for technical success of WBD live and taped events. On-site Engineer-in-Charge for broadcast productions such as CNN’s prime time lineup, Bleacher Reports live productions, as well as any taped events and all other news, entertainment and sporting events. Is a technology point person for studio and production control room productions. Provides tier 2 support, including: troubleshooting of wiring of studio cameras, set monitors, audio, lighting and ethernet connections on set or in production spaces.Staff Knowledge Sharing – Provide technical oversight, coach and mentor entry-level staff in regards to technical systems utilized for day-to-day operation and responsibilities. Effectively communicate department directives to staff in a positive and proactive manner. Clearly communicate amongst team and production staff. Documenting equipment inventory, status and workflows.Customer Service – Work closely with our partners to satisfy their needs and requests. Serve as liaison between Engineering Leads, staff and customers. Cultivate cooperative relationships between customers and Engineering staff to ensure technical as well as operational readiness. Provide daily reporting related to operational issues and/or Air impacting events.Executes the development, testing and implementation of new systems, software and equipment. Create and maintain documentation. Maintain follow-up with appropriate parties to ensure resolution. Coordinate with production technology vendors to determine the need for systems repair or upgrade.Qualifications & Experiences...A four-year engineering degree (or equivalent work experience in Live Broadcast engineering field).3+ Years of live production engineering experience2+ Years television maintenance experienceDemonstrates mentorship and fiscal responsibilitiesStrong understanding of SMPTE 2110 StandardsExperience in design and implementation of broadcast facility technologyNot Required but preferred experience:Knowledge of Intercom Systems used in production environment.Understanding of Evertz Routing Systems and Magnum ControlCCNA Certification or Networking backgroundCloud TechnologiesHow We Get Things Done…This last bit is probably the most important! Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $95,703.00 - $177,734.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
