Job Scope:
Responsible for technical leadership of a project as well as for supporting the Project Manager in managing project performance of the engineering team with respect to cost, schedule and Client satisfaction. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Contribute to the analysis of information, the specification of the methods, process steps, and the plant, machinery and equipment specified by the project to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters.Respond to RFI's on behalf of the Owner organization to facilitate the review and approval of engineering equals, design modifications, and maintaining documentation through review and audit of contractor staff.Generate and support deployment of quality assurance plans for the field installations of existing designs.Organize and continuously audit the construction site to support accelerated pre-commissioning steps.Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineered works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.Ideal Background
Education:
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university is required.Registration:
Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.Experience:
This position requires 5+ years of relevant experience in Pharma or Lab construction/GMP practices.Demonstrated field experience to include drawing redline management, inspection/walk downs/pre-commissioning teamwork presence in field.Can read engineering specifications and drawings, including P&IDs, Piping Plans, Sections, and Isometrics, and equipment general arrangement drawings.Manages and applies safe systems of work without supervision and provides technical guidance when required.Negotiates without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on how to help the organization by obtaining consensus between two or more internal or external parties who may have different interests.Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on reviewing and creating relevant, lucid and effective reports.Identifies, assesses, prioritizes and manages risks without supervision and provides technical guidance when required.Works under guidance (but not constant supervision) to perform costing, budgeting and finance tasks.Physical Requirements:Candidate must be capable of climbing ladders, lifting loads in excess of 30 lbs, and become harness qualified.Hargrove Culture
