We design and manufacture mission-critical equipment components to deliver more affordable, cleaner energy solutions and enable manufacturers to operate more efficiently.WE DELIVER CUSTOMER SUCCESSDover Precision Components delivers products and services that enhance performance, improve safety, reduce carbon emissions, and accelerate clean energy adoption, through collaborative customer relationships, expert engineering, and an innovative culture.Summary:The CNC Programmer will primarily be responsible for planning numerical control program to control contour path machining of metal parts on automatic machine tools by performing the following duties:Responsibilities:Analyzes drawings, sketches and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools and machine speeds and feed rates.Determines reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.Analyzes routings during programming stage and updates processes to guarantee CNC machine tools are used to their fullest capability.Computes angular and linear dimensions, radii and curvatures, and outlines sequence of operations required to machine parts.Create CNC Programs in line with routed operations using available software.Create set-up documents to supplement written programs.Revise and edit programs as necessary to eliminate instruction errors or omissions.Observe operation of machine on trial run as necessary to prove programmed instructions.Liaise with tool crib and/or M.E. Tech regarding required tooling.Develop and maintain standard programming guidelines for both processes and program creation (Quality driven).Safety – Eliminate hazards through sound engineering practices.Qualifications:5-10 years of experienceHigh School Degree or GED5 years of trade school or equivalent experienceExperience machining finish-grade components to tight tolerancesRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.Mathematics — Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Equipment Selection — Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.Ability to review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.Ability to set-up manual machines and/or program CNC machines with supervision.Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
