In the Principal DevOps Engineer role, your purpose is to lead the integration and software development activities that create a robust and efficient working environment for the systems and software life cycle. By identifying and managing the adoption of appropriate tools, techniques, and processes, you contribute to the ongoing development of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for systems integration, software development, release and deployment, database administration, and configuration management. Your efforts help ensure that our vision of a seamless and secure technological infrastructure is achieved.The DevOps Tools & Engineering Department is looking for a DevOps Engineer experienced with onboarding projects using tools such as GitHub/GitHub Actions, Jira, Confluence, SonarQube, Checkmarx etc. Must have the ability to analyse project requirements and come up with solutions to design, implement, and automate software build and deployment processes within our CI/CD platform. This role will work closely with application development and operations teams.What you'll do

As an employee in the Principal DevOps Engineer role, your key roles and responsibilities will include:Collaborate with software development teams to design and implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines.Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes.Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to ensure high availability and performance.Manage and maintain cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.Create Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Pipelines.Automate the deployment of new environments.Develop scripts to automate and improve operational processes.Partner with offshore and regional DevOps team members on automation projects.Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the DevOps practice.About you

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.7 - 10 years of related experience.Hire, manage, and mentor staff with a process-oriented approach and strong customer service skills.Foster one-team culture with ownership, collaboration, and empathy across functions.Manage risks and communicate project status, issues, and risks clearly and timely to stakeholders.Collaborate with colleagues and suppliers in different time zones and communicate effectively with both technical and business people.Experience working with GitHub Actions.Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, Groovy, Bash, SQL, YAML.Experience using Kubernetes (preferred tools are AKS and ArgoCD).Experience implementing branching strategies with Git.Good understanding of industry best practices for agile software development.Azure, or other DevOps related certifications.Experience working with Salesforce development teams.Experience supporting deployments and builds in a 24/7 SaaS environment.What you'll get

A competitive salary between £60,000 – £80,000 – dependent on capability.As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
