Your role will make an impact by:Leading technical interactions with customers to understand their electrical requirements and application needs, providing reliable and value-based solutions.Communicating technical aspects of power cable accessories, underground asset management, and associated portfolios through presentations, trainings, publications, demonstrations, and digital media like videos and the 3M Energy Academy.Implementing engineering solutions based on customer needs, including developing drawings, GTPs, and Bills of Materials for cable accessory kits. Collaborating with teams such as manufacturing, customer service, and sales to ensure the creation and supply of customer solutions.Assessing product application and performance through hands-on installations, assembly, and testing in internal and external laboratories according to applicable standards and practices.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo succeed in this role, 3M requires the following qualifications and skills:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering combined with Electronics and/or Telecommunications from a reputed institution/university.Minimum of 5 years of combined experience as a Field Engineer, Design Engineer, Applications Engineer, Testing Engineer, or Technical Sales Engineer, with experience working with engineering companies, consultants, and/or OEMs of medium voltage equipment like cables & accessories, switchgear, transformers, meters, etc.Strong knowledge of Electrical Engineering, including medium voltage cables, splices, and terminations. Understanding of equipment typically encountered in medium voltage projects, such as switchgear, transformers, and motors, and their field connections.Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office tools, and familiarity with CAD, SolidWorks, NX, and other design and analysis software are desirable.Project management skills are desirable.Hands-on experience with electrical testing and interpretation of standards is preferred.Digital skills such as creating videos, photography, video editing, and PowerPoint presentations are preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.Proven success working on cross-functional teams is a must.Learn more about 3M’s creative solutions to the world’s problems at www.3M.com or on Twitter @3M.
