Join our world-class, innovative team today.Position Specific DescriptionThe IT Internship role at NextEra Energy will primarily focus on the modernization of our infrastructure. The intern will assist with converting existing EC2 servers to serverless Fargate services to optimize operations and reduce AWS costs. This role requires familiarity with various AWS services, programming skills, and a solid understanding of database and system programming concepts.Key Responsibilities:AWS Services: Work with AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS), Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Simple Storage Service (S3), and AWS LambdaServerless Migration: Convert existing EC2 servers to serverless Fargate services, focusing on cost reduction and operational efficiencyProgramming: Utilize programming languages like TypeScript and Python for implementing and integrating solutionsDatabase Concepts: Apply database management and system programming concepts to ensure data integrity and optimized performanceCollaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, develop solutions, and implement them into the existing architectureDocumentation: Produce detailed documentation of the migration process, configurations, and testing proceduresContinuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in cloud operations and cost managementQualifications:Educational Background:

Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Information Technology, or related program at an accredited universityTechnical Skills:Familiarity with AWS services, including ECS, EKS, S3, and AWS LambdaExperience with programming languages: TypeScript and PythonUnderstanding of database and system programming conceptsSoft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentAdditional Experience (Preferred):Experience with containerization technologies such as DockerPrevious internship or project experience in cloud computing or IT systemsGain hands-on experience with leading-edge cloud technologiesWork closely with experienced professionals in the energy sectorOpportunity to contribute to impactful projects that drive efficiency and innovationPotential for career growth within NextEra EnergyJob Overview
