The City of Chandler Development Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a

Traffic Signal Systems Analyst . The position is scheduled to work Monday - Friday, 9 am - 6 pm, or a 9/80 schedule, 8 am - 6 pm.

Who we areThe City of Chandler Development Services team, consisting of 83 positions, provides sound land use planning strategies, responsible design development standards, and high quality, safety compliant infrastructure in all areas of Development Services, including planning, GIS, building safety, development engineering, telecommunications and utility franchise, City fiber, transportation engineering, and customer service and permits.

Who we are looking forOur new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to perform day-to-day functions in support of the City's Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), traffic fiber network, traffic signal system, and Traffic Management Center (TMC).

Minimum qualificationsAssociate's Degree in Traffic, Transportation, Civil, Computer or Electrical Engineering; and4 years of experience in the practice of traffic engineering and ITS operations and planning, computerized traffic signal systems including video-monitoring systems, automated traffic counting systems, responsive traffic signal timing, and traveler information systems; andA valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; orAny equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired qualificationsExperience with Synchro Traffic Signal Timing Software.International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level I Transportation Center System Specialist CertificationIMSA Level II Traffic Signal Technician CertificationExperience in municipal or government settings.

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
