DescriptionThe Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's computer networks. They ensure the integrity and security of data, as well as the availability of network services. The role involves troubleshooting network issues, optimizing performance, and implementing network upgrades. The Senior Network Engineer will collaborate with various teams to enhance productivity and ensure a seamless user experience within the company’s environment.
Role Responsibilities
Network Design and Implementation:Design and implement computer networks, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
Install and configure network hardware and software components.
Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet the organization’s network requirements.
Network Maintenance:Monitor network performance and ensure the availability of resources.
Conduct routine maintenance and updates to network components.
Identify and resolve issues related to network hardware, software, and connectivity.
Security Management:Implement and maintain network security protocols to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
Monitor network traffic for unusual activities and implement security measures accordingly.
Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with security policies.
Troubleshooting:Diagnose and resolve network problems promptly.
Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues.
Collaborate with other IT professionals to address complex network issues.
Training and Mentoring:Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and support staff.
Conduct training sessions for end-users on network-related topics.
Documentation:Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
Create network diagrams and documentation for reference.
Collaboration:Work closely with other IT professionals, including system administrators, to ensure seamless integration between network and systems components.
Collaborate with vendors for procurement and support of network equipment and services.
Requirements
Strong knowledge and experience with layer 2/3 protocols, including HSRP, Spanning Tree, VPC and DNS. Experience designing and implementing dynamic routing solutions, such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
Proficiency configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco, Aruba and FortiNet switches.
Experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco, Fortigate, and Sonicwall firewalls.
Experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Meraki and Ubiquiti wireless.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to trouble shoot complex issues.
Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
Relevant certifications a plus:o CCNAo NSE
Where You'll WorkMoser has two offices in Indianapolis, IN, and one in Baltimore, MD. This position will require a hybrid/onsite work schedule out of northern Indiana, preferably around the South Bend, IN area.
