Job

Description :

Assist the Government by providing systems engineering expertise to analyze system concept, system design and interoperability; providing input to, and analysis of, system architectures for the current and future Customer systems; and participation in systems engineering technical reviews (such as system functional reviews, preliminary design reviews, critical design reviews, etc.) as well as assisting in defining appropriate entrance and exit criterion for those reviews.

Support requirements/capabilities gap analysis including providing input to user capability needs IAW the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System process, and translation of user capability needs/requirements into performance specifications for all program systems.

Provide expertise for technical assessments regarding the technical performance and progress of Customer systems, potential technologies to support user requirements, and technology alternatives/strategies and trade-offs.

Provide expertise in the development of documents to include, but not limited to, Technology Readiness Levels documentation for hardware and software, engineering change proposals, program baselines, engineering risk assessments, and technical manuals.

Manage requirements and communicate system architectures by utilizing engineering and architecture tools such as Creo, Windchill, Rational, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), System Architect, Magic Draw, and Visio.

Recommend engineering solutions to reduce overall sustainment costs through cost benefit analysis.

Assist the Government by providing expertise in the development of documentation for the program offices programs to include but not limited to systems engineering plans, test and evaluation master plans, technical specifications, interface control documents, and acquisition requirement package (ARP) documentation.

Analyze the Customer’s programs/systems for integration, fielding, demonstration, experiments, exercises, and testing.

Support the integration of sensor capabilities at Government and third-party system integration laboratories (SIL).

Use a SIL for system integration and development to improve the Customer systems capabilities, commonality, and interoperability.

Support payload/system integration with Army host platforms at both Government and third-party test sites, to include hardware installation, software integration and interoperability test, and system functionality and performance verification.

Provide recommendations and/or drafts for change or input into the configuration management plan when directed.

Review and provide input to Customer configuration management requirements including assistance in review of engineering change proposals, and physical and functional configuration audits.

Use the Government-defined system (e.g., Windchill, Integrated Product Data Management (iPDM)) to support the Engineering Change Proposal process.

Use the Government-defined Product Data Management system (e.g. Windchill) for maintenance of technical data.

Assist the Government in the development and maintenance of detailed lists for all Customer systems and subcomponent configurations.

Manage and update technical data to ensure accuracy, modifications, obsolescence issues, and test and evaluation requirements are incorporated.

Assist the Government by providing direct support for updating and maintaining systems baseline documentation.

Assist the Government by providing expertise in the development of documentation for the Program Offices programs to include but not limited to systems engineering plans (SEP), TEMPs, technical specifications, and ARP documentation.

Assist the Government in reviewing third party user manuals and documentation to support all programs required.

Qualifications:

10 or more years as a Systems Engineer

Working knowledge of DoDI 5000 & Defense Acquisition

BA/BS or higher

Top secret (TS) clearance with the ability to obtain sensitive compartmented information (SCI)

An additional 10 years’ experience in a related field may be substituted for education.

A Master’s degree or higher in a related field may be substituted for 5 years of experience.
