You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.Position DescriptionOur Senior Engineer is a key member of the engineering staff working on Web solutions ensuring that we provide a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. Our team thrives and succeeds in delivering high quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between.Position ResponsibilitiesScope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systemsBuild product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solutionEngage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycleLead in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organizationDefine, create, and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspectiveUtilize programming languages like Python, Objective C, JavaScript, TypeScript, Dart, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and servicesStrong understanding of SQL and NON SQL databases such as Oracle, Postgres, CosmosDB, etcMentor other engineersConsistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teamsUtilize developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication) to perform advanced-level Web/UI design, implementation, and maintenance activities under minimal directionQualificationsFluency and specialization with at least two modern languages such as Python, Objective C, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSX, Dart, etc. including object-oriented designProven understanding of micro-services architecture and extensible REST APIsExperience in leveraging PowerShell scripting and using REACT testing libraryFluency in DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture, and Azure DevOps Operational FrameworkExperience in existing Operational Portals such as Azure PortalExperience with application monitoring tools and performance assessmentsExperience in Datacenter structure, capabilities, and offerings, including the Azure platform, and its native servicesExperience in security protocols and products: Understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuthExperience in Azure Network (Subscription, Security zoning, etc)In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithmsExperience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as codeExperience building the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systemsExperience with Architecture components and Navigation Architecture ComponentsExperience in Application FrameworksExperience with XCode, VS Code, or a similar IDEExperience in Risk assessmentStrong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to both senior leadership and highly technical personnelAbility to excel in a fast-paced environmentExperience4+ years of professional software development experience within Mobile and Web frameworks/SDKs/languages such as Objective-C, React, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Flutter/Dart3+ years of experience with architecture and design3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service2+ years of experience in open-source frameworksEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.Annual Salary$82,000.00 - $185,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
