Castleton Commodities International, a leading global energy commodities merchant and investor, seeks a Data Engineer. This crucial role involves integrating new data management platforms, constructing data ingestion pipelines, and collaborating with global Risk and commercial investing teams. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the firm's investment platform, supporting its mission to generate strong risk-adjusted returns through proprietary capital deployment.In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

Execute data architecture and management projects for new and existing data sourcesTransition data sets, databases, and code to a new technology stackLead data set analysis using techniques including machine learningManage data ingestion process and publishing to investment teamsMap, standardize, and normalize dataConduct research on vendor trends and best practicesCreate workflows to manage data loads and perform quality analysisManage vendor relationships and data input changesPrioritize and resolve data issues based on business usageAssist with big data projects for the commercial businessPartner with commercial teams to understand data flow and gather requirementsIdentify and remediate gaps in current datasetsThis role comes with the following benefits:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Business Intelligence, or related field5+ years in SQL programming, data architecture, and dimension modelingPassion for data architecture, analytics, management, and programmingExperience in energy commodities or financial servicesExperience in mapping, standardizing, and normalizing dataExperience with data integration platforms, SnapLogic preferredExperience with ETL/ELT frameworksAdvanced skills in writing optimized SQL codeExperience with Snowflake or OraclePython experience with Pandas, Numpy, and ScikitAbility to communicate with technical and non-technical usersTeam player with the ability to manage changing projects and prioritiesStrong analytical skills with attention to detailYou would benefit from having:
