erforms tasks to ensure all work instructions related to the machining of SMC products are followed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Adherence to all department work instructionsEnsure the respective area is compliant with 5S standards and all Lean Principals about SMC standardsProcess all necessary paperwork associated with established machining standardsExecute basic to advanced workflow tasks on established SMC systemsConduct basic preventative maintenance on machines and adhere to all SMC safety rules and OSHA/ISO regulationsBasic knowledge of SMC products and raw material propertiesApply proper feed and speed rates for individual machines and materialsConduct minor editing/modifications to programs for special “X” optionsRe-machine or modify original parts according to new dimensions and/or customer requirementsProgram machine in accordance with blueprint specificationsTroubleshoot routine equipment breakdownsWork from SMC blueprints for standard and modified partsAbility to set up and operate vertical mills or horizontal lathe machines, including other equipment such as Bridgeport lathes and mills NC saws, polygonal, thread roll, tie-rod machine, clean machine, bead blast machines, manual drill, and tape machinesAdhere to all QA management system standards of machined parts to ensure dimensions are within toleranceConduct CIMCO program execution on all CNC equipment assignedUnderstand workflow from SMC advanced blueprints for standard and modified parts “X” options and UIA specialsUnderstand Perform Heat Shrink Process and Operations on all tooling equipment used in the shopPerform and execute Master Cam operations as they pertain to CNC equipmentBasic understanding of Sold Works as it pertains to job operationConduct work inspection using advanced measuring tools or GO or NO GO gageExecute all set-ups and programming of either all advanced milling or Lathe operations with minor assistance from engineeringAll other duties as assignedPHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical demands require the person to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and armsThe person is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl; must be able to hear and talk.The work environment will expose an employee to the following elements: noise, heat, cold, dust, and machining fluids such as coolant, oil, waste disposable other lubricantsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associates degree in a technical related field or equivalent experience or must be able to pass a proficient written test and a practical test administered by SMC using SMC blueprint drawings (Doc . No. Fig. MA 16-0011 and Doc NO MA16-0012)Must have the ability to take a practice test based on mills or lathe skill set and the test must be executed within an hour time frameAbility to work well in a team environment settingMust be able to work in a Detail Oriented settingsMust have the Ability to effectively communicate with other departments within the plant3-5 years prior experience in the Machine Operation field
