Data Developer Position Description
US CITIZENSHIP AND ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED
CGI Federal is currently seeking Data Developers with active Top-Secret clearances to support a large project for a federal government client. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Collaborate with functional users to develop system alternative solutions.
Work with system end users to determine application requirements.
Evaluate user requests for automation or upgrading of existing systems.
Apply knowledge of computer system capabilities to outline coding steps for programmers.
Coordinate with other systems engineers to ensure proper implementation of program and system specifications.
Analyze information to be processed.
Analyze problems and develop system requirements and program specifications.
Convert project specifications into detailed algorithms for coding.
Design Graphical User Interfaces to meet user goals.
Develop documentation related to the development of computer programs.
Develop plans for automated data processing systems from project inception to conclusion.
Provide support for the installation, testing, implementation, and maintenance of hardware/software for application functions.
Perform other duties as required by management.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Minimum of 5-8 years' experience as a Data Developer.
Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework.
Ability to adapt to a non-traditional Agile Software Development model.
Understanding of Configuration Management principles and practices.
Proficiency in computer languages and strong technical knowledge in application development.
Ability to analyze customer needs and develop new applications to meet those needs.
Clear communication skills to effectively convey ideas to coders, teammates, and management.
Thought leadership and creativity in problem-solving and developing innovative applications.
Excellent customer service skills in dealing with clients and customers.
Attention to detail in planning and developing application components.
Strong problem-solving skills to make decisions that move the project forward.
Ability to work effectively in a customer/contractor teaming environment.
Maintaining the Apache Hadoop Ecosystem, especially utilizing HBase, MapReduce, and Spark.
ETL processes utilizing Linux shell scripting, Perl, Python, and Apache Airflow.
AWS services such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELB, EMR, KMS, SQS, SNS, and Systems Manager.
Experience in supporting, maintaining, and migrating JavaFX applications to modern cloud-native solutions.
Active Top-Secret clearance.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $61,000.00 - $121,000.00.
