Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Manager/Director to join our team! In this role, you'll have the privilege of working on the premier Infrastructure projects in the Country, as well as receive all of the benefits of working for Parsons! This work will primarily support our client growth and development with our Freight Rail and Transit Clients in the Midwest.
The Program Director must be capable of managing a project or program valued up to several hundred million in total installed cost. Prior experience must include significant project management at the Principal Project Manager level with freight rail and transit clients with an emphasis in structures and facilities. Experience should also include client and operations/project management of personnel.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide high-quality project execution as a Project Manager/Director.
Negotiate new contracts and change orders to the scope of work with clients and key sub-consultants.
Establish the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitor the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
Mobilize company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
Provide input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.
Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes.
Monitor and report to management on the progress of all project activity within the program.
Drive growth through leveraging key client opportunities.
Identify, develop, and maintain key accounts.
Enhance Parsons’ profile and reach across the industry through participation in professional and industry organizations.
Maintain strong relations with local and regional clients.
Participate in professional engineering societies and events/conferences.
Key leadership capabilities:
Drive growth while managing efficiency in the short and long term.
Manage large, diverse teams and build consensus between technical disciplines.
Serve as a strong leader, fostering a culture of accountability, rewards, and consequences.
Achieve maximum productivity by implementing best practices for utilizing communication technology.
Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to senior management and clients.
Possess experience managing/overseeing large ($100MM+ construction value) rail, systems, facility, bridge or highway projects.
Support the overall success of the company by being a strong collaborator with other business units.
Consistently exercise and demonstrate sound Business Acumen.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and typically 20+ years of related work experience is required. A Master's Degree is preferred.
Registered Professional Engineer - Illinois, other states a plus.
Registered Structural Engineer - Illinois, other states a plus.
Must have client relationships and experience with Metra, CTA, and various Class I Railroads.
Travel may be required.
Active in AREMA is a plus.

Salary Range:
$149,900.00 - $269,800.00.
