Direct Support Professional Aides
to join our team. You will be teaching people with intellectual and developmental disabilities new skills and improving their independence.The pay range for this position is $16.85 to $17.25. This position is located in Chula Vista. Your journey starts here!Who you are:Believe in empowering individuals in living their most independent livesAre flexible and adaptable to different situationsHave an educator mindsetTake pride in being a reliable and inclusive member of a teamA typical day will include:Providing culturally appropriate direct support to individuals using person-centered approaches and strategies including:Support and motivation to reach individual goals and objectivesEngage and facilitate meaningful activities that cater to the person’s individual interest, preferences, and choices; teaching as necessaryAssists with daily living skills including grooming, hygiene, toileting, feeding, and mobilityCompletion of electronic documentation prior to end of shifts.What you’ll need to be successful:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)We’d love it if you:Had 6 or more months of prior hands-on experience with persons needing help with self-care such as feeding, bathing, toiletingThe Arc of San Diego is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
