Position Summary:

The Network System Administrator has a strong background in network administration, cybersecurity, and virtualization technologies. The Network System Administrator manages and maintains network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Design, implement, and manage network security measures to protect company data and systems from cyber threats.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.

Configure and maintain virtualized environments using VMware vSphere, including virtual machines and storage.

Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of network and security solutions with business applications.

Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and address potential risks.

Develop and maintain documentation related to network configurations, security policies, and procedures.

Provide technical support and training to end-users on network and security-related topics.

Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in network administration, cybersecurity, and virtualization technologies.

Educational Requirements / Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

Proven experience as a Network Administrator, Security Administrator, or similar role.

In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, routing, and switching technologies.

Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security.

Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and virtualization technologies.

Familiarity with SolidWorks and Product Data Management (PDM) systems is a plus.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Security+, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or equivalent are preferred.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Willing/able to occasionally climb a ladder to ceiling height (approx. 2-3 times per year).

Ability to make day trips within 100 miles of corporate office to provide IT support in a manufacturing environment.
