DescriptionThe Vanguard 2.2.1 program currently has an opening for a MECM Infrastructure Engineer position for the System Configuration Management (SCM) team within the Vanguard Endpoint Engineering Services (EES) office. SCM is comprised of a team that manages multiple MECM infrastructures made up of both physical and virtual systems and that spans a very large enterprise.This role is largely onsite, but may allow for some hybrid work depending on customer's need.This position requires a multifaceted individual with experience and interest in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), a good working knowledge of Windows-based systems management, a working knowledge of Linux-based systems, SQL querying skills, and familiarity with both physical and virtual hardware platforms. The candidate will be a part of a team that manages an enterprise infrastructure consisting of both virtual and physical systems, multiple MECM infrastructures and WSUS instances. The team is responsible for the delivery of software updates and patches, as well as providing Tier III support to resolve customer issues.Responsibilities Include:Monitoring and troubleshooting MECM related infrastructures and services.Installing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting SQL instances. Using T-SQL to create reporting on MECM status and performance.Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting WSUS servers.Managing and maintaining physical hardware and associated networking components.Creating and managing GPOs; creating and managing associated objects in Active Directory.Creating scripts using PowerShell to perform tasks related to MECM management and configuration.Some re-engineering of patch & software packaging for various MECM infrastructures and reporting solutions as technologies change and/or problems are identified and mitigated.The team also supports Cybersecurity and Incident Response related packaging and deployment efforts. These duties include rapid and non-duty hours support for cybersecurity incidents and other high priority, unexpected initiatives.QualificationsRequired Education & Experience:BS degree in a computer science/computer engineering related discipline and 6+ years of experience or no degree with additional years of experience with MECM, WSUS, T-SQL, and system management of Windows-based OS.Patch management experience especially with regard to Microsoft products, i.e. Windows Update Agent, Microsoft Entra, and WSUS.MECM/Entra hands on experience (ability to leverage console, create objects and troubleshoot issues).Scripting language experience, specifically PowerShell.GPO administration and Active Directory experience.Experience troubleshooting and managing Windows Operating Systems, WMI, and client agent administration.SQL experience.Ability to work unsupervised.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Required Clearance:US Citizenship.Active Top Secret clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Understanding of cyber security concepts.Experience with patching Linux environment is a plus.PowerBI skills are a plus.
