ITS provides opportunities for professional development and fosters staff creativity. The ITS staff enjoy varied job responsibilities allowing them to work with a variety of people across campus.Reporting to the Assistant Director, Workday Student, the Enterprise Integration Specialist/Programmer will be a contributor as the team implements Workday Student. Upon conclusion of the project, the position will support ongoing development, changes, and releases as a member of the Student Systems Team.The position will configure, build, test, and deploy integration systems in partnership with functional leads and other members of the technical team.Specific Responsibilities include:Integrations DevelopmentActively participate in ongoing design, deployment, and maintenance of integration processes with functional leads and larger team for all integrations to and from Workday.Build integration systems that connect Workday to external systems that enable the Student and Faculty experience.Develop integrations that may utilize a combination of the following technologies: EIB, Workday Connectors, RAAS, SOAP API, REST, and flat file.Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, including errors and exceptions.Ensure integration solutions are scalable, secure, and meet performance requirements.Support planning activities on implementation projects with the goal of identifying configuration, data, and system requirements to support future state processes.SupportProvide superior customer service and effectively communicate with functional and end users who report issues to figure out solutions to reported problems.Balance project workload with responses for support requests on already delivered projects.Provide support for Workday inbound and outbound integration issues, changes to existing integrations, and developing new integrations.Ensure integrations function as designed based on functional and technical requirements.Workday Configuration / Report WritingMeet with functional leads and others as necessary to understand reporting needs.Develop and write reports necessary for integration purposes.Participate in business process configuration as related to integration purposes and in general support of Student Systems processes.This position is remote. All positions may require on-campus meetings. Remote work is only considered for residents of MA, VT, NH, ME, CT, RI, or NY. (Relocation assistance to CT may be available for those who qualify).Minimum QualificationsMinimum requirements at the Specialist level:Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of integration experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. (Can include grad school experience)Ability to handle integrations with complex data.Knowledge of API and Web Services (REST/SOAP).Experience with SQL.Experience integrating systems with third-party service vendors.Familiarity working with various relational databases.Familiarity with integrations toolset; ETL, IPAAS.Familiarity with modern web programming languages.A team-oriented person with a can-do approach to getting the job done.Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.A demonstrated ability to find innovative solutions and the courage to try new approaches.Ability to effectively prioritize and shift priorities.Willingness to work as a team member to achieve departmental goals.Demonstrated commitment to work within a diverse environment and interact openly with individuals of different backgrounds.Additional minimum requirements at the Programmer level:Bachelor's degree and at least four years of integration experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Demonstrated experience overseeing the complete software development lifecycle from concept to deployment.Demonstrated ability to research skills required to solve complex problems.Experienced with RESTful APIs and manipulating object-oriented data structures (JSON).Demonstrated ability to recognize and understand impacts to downstream systems.Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl, PHP, or Python.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.Strong understanding and adherence to best practices.Position is open until filled.
