The Davey Resource Group (DRG) is currently hiring certified arborists, professional foresters, horticulturalists, natural resource specialists, environmental scientists, landscape, nursery, tree care, and parks and recreation professionals, plant and outdoor enthusiasts to join our workforce.Responsibilities
Work with Austin Energy to address its vegetation clearance needsInspect utility rights of ways and identify vegetation incompatible with state and federal regulationsCollect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigationCommunicate with landowners regarding work on or near their propertyAssess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditionsRequired Qualifications
Associate's degree in forestry or a related field OR 1 year of Utility Vegetation Management experienceMust be able to obtain TDA Commercial Pesticide Applicators License within 3 months of starting employmentKnowledge of local tree species and growth ratesAbility to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weatherWorking knowledge of Electric Utility safety concerns (tree/wire conflict)Working knowledge of office suite, ArcGIS maps, and electronic work planning softwareExcellent written and verbal communication skillsClean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle on rough roadsWhat We Offer
