Job Purpose
The Lead Platform Engineer will be responsible for managing daily operational activity of our cloud infrastructure which includes Kubernetes clusters, ArgoCD, and Terraform. In addition, you will be responsible for a portfolio of tools, standards, and patterns that enable development teams to operate more efficiently. You will need to use your technical depth and hands-on implementation experience to create efficient, scalable solutions managing cloud infrastructure, while adhering to principles of observability.
Responsibilities (80% of the Position)
Lead in adopting and creating best practices while implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, and Kubernetes amongst other tools
Stay abreast of new technologies and create prototypes where applicable
Work with IT governance to implement and validate compliance to overall enterprise policies and best practices
Lead in managing monitoring and alerting solutions to provide visibility into the overall health of applications, systems, and code
Work with development and QA teams to identify and implement improvements to the developments, deployment and monitoring workflows
Lead the automation and development tools that ensure rapid, safe, and high-quality delivery of features
Lead the creation and improvements of Infrastructure as Code throughout the enterprise
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
7+ years of working with cloud infrastructure
Strong programming and scripting knowledge, e.g., Terraform, Bash, Helm, Golang, Groovy
Expertise with one of CI/CD systems and their pipelines, both cloud and on-prem: Jenkins (preferred), CircleCI, ArgoCD, GitlabCI
Familiarity with software configuration management systems and source code version control systems (git, bitbucket, svn)
Understanding of designing and developing architecture for cloud-based applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong understanding of cloud native tools and managed cloud offerings (CNCF, AWS, GCP)
Experience with cloud native platforms and tools including Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Hashicorp Vault, AWS CLI, GCP CLI, Cloudflare, JFrog Artifactory
Solid understanding of 12 Factor application methodology
Understanding observability initiatives such as dashboards and alerts using tools such as AWS Cloudwatch, Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, Dynatrace, Jaeger
Understanding of PCI-DSS, CCPA, and GDPR compliance
Preferred Experience
Jenkins, especially Jenkins Configuration as Code

Vault
