The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Saint Charles, MO.Boeing, Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the Precision Engagement Systems (PES) team located in Saint Charles, MO.This position will work closely with program managers, contracts, estimating, supply chain, engineering, and/or customers to execute the program. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.Position Responsibilities Include:Work with our internal and external customers to identify requirements and build plans to support their needsTrack progress to cost, schedule, and technical performance using Boeing Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) and Earned Value Management (EVM)Support the development of customer proposals, including development of competitive pricing and delivery datesEngage regularly with supply chain leadership to monitor supplier quality and performanceResolve technical issues through coordination with engineering and the Chief EngineerManage deliverables by defining plans for risk mitigation, issues, and opportunities; and, monitoring baseline plans to assess project performance, productivity, and lessons learnedBrief customers and leadership on program status; risks, issues, and opportunities; and help neededStandardize, develop, and document processesAdditional Support:
This job can encompass a variety of tasking including support for Correction Action Requests (CARs) received by the program; export authority support; and lean/process improvements. Domestic and/or international travel may be required to support program execution.This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):(Level 4):Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry5+ years of experience in an engineering role5+ years leading or managing multi-disciplinary engineering project teamsSenior (Level 5):Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry10+ years of experience in an engineering role10+ years of experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects or leading multi-disciplinary engineering teamsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Project Management Professional CertificationExperience with proposal development and contracting negotiationsExperience with Export Compliance or International programsExperience developing and tracking program plans/schedules and budgets for technical projects5+ years of project management experience in an engineering environment5+ years of experience in engineering project planning or project management5+ years of experience supporting weapons systems5+ years of experience working directly with government customers5+ years of experience collaborating across functions and organizations10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceTypical Education/Experience:(Level 4):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
