Job Title: Cyber Security Team Lead
Responsibilities of the Cyber Security Team Lead:McLane Advanced Technologies is seeking a Cyber Security Team Lead to support the Department of Energy (DOE) in Albuquerque, NM. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the cyber security team to protect the organization’s digital assets from internal and external threats. This role involves providing technical leadership, developing security strategies, managing security incidents, and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations. The Team Lead works closely with other IT departments, executive leadership, and external partners to enforce security protocols and promote a culture of security awareness across the organization.The Cyber Security Team Lead will:Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity analysts, engineers, and incident responders.Perform and lead support of Certification and Accreditation (C&A) or other IA/CND Compliance and Auditing processes and inspections for all enterprise systems and networks.Assign tasks, manage performance, and provide professional development opportunities for team members.Lead and perform compliance reviews of computer security plans, perform risk assessments, and validate and perform security test evaluations and audits.Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.Oversee the identification, investigation, and resolution of security incidents, including malware infections, data breaches, and unauthorized access.Analyze and define security requirements for information protection for enterprise systems and networks.Ensure timely reporting of security incidents to relevant stakeholders and regulatory bodies, if necessary.Work with internal teams to integrate security controls into IT projects and business operations.Analyze the sensitivity of information and perform vulnerability and risk assessments based on defined sensitivity and information flow.Ensure security tools (SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security) are properly configured and updated.Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to proactively identify and address security weaknesses.Promote security awareness by developing and delivering cybersecurity training programs across the organization.Keep up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and advise management on necessary updates to security posture.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a relevant field from an accredited university.5+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.Professionally certified as Technical Level III as defined by DODI 8570 is a requirement.Previous experience in large enterprise or government security environments.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).Experience with incident response, vulnerability management, and penetration testing.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Strong organizational and time management skills, coupled with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.Self-driven with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.Highly desired is a relevant security certification such as Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.Active DOE or DOD Security Clearance.About McLane Advanced Technologies:Headquartered in Tysons Corner, VA, McLane Advanced Technologies is a small business that specializes in providing industry-leading Logistics and Technology services to the Department of Defense, Federal Government, and the private sector.
