10+ yrs. experienced candidate, In person interviewJob Description:Currently, the enterprise is a complex, multi-platform data environment (including some legacy Mainframe) consisting of Amazon AWS/Snowflake and Microsoft Azure, along with Tableau and Power BI. Technologies in use include Oracle, DB2, MySQL, and SQL Server, Tableau and Power BI, as well as desktop-based applications such as MS Access and MS Excel. DPI aims to establish an enterprise data model with a primary goal of standardizing shared data entities and attributes and a secondary goal of standardizing database management systems and tools. School Business and HR/other data will be hosted in Snowflake running in AWS, generally using SQL Server. The Expert Snowflake Tableau School Business Data Developer will provide analysis and leadership on data analysis projects across the DPI enterprise focusing on School Business Data. You will provide insight to other data analysts, data architects, and application developers related to creating an enterprise data reporting model that meets DPI's school business and technical requirements. You will also provide subject matter expertise and training to other SQL/Snowflake and Tableau developers and analysts.Requirements
Skills Set:Experience with SQL databases and related ETL and advanced data validations in Snowflake (and also Azure) and data visualization using Tableau (and also Power BI) - Required, 5+ yearsProven track record of solving real world problems using data. Excellent critical thinking skills is a must have for this role. - RequiredUnderstanding of different database platforms: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, and MS Access - RequiredUnderstanding of Data Warehousing (AWS/Snowflake and Azure) and data mining for reporting and analysis - RequiredUnderstanding of modeling strategies (dimensional, Snowflake, relational, unstructured) - RequiredExperience designing and delivering data mapping specifications for large reporting platforms. Writing and maintaining business rules using SQL logic - RequiredDemonstrated experience in writing ad-hoc SQL statements - RequiredStrong interest in playing a technical data steward role across our business and technology partners to understand and detail our data - RequiredProven experience with ERD/Data Modelling tools (Toad or others) - RequiredExperience in executing projects in an Agile / Hybrid environment - RequiredDemonstrated technical ability in learning new technologies and adapting to frequent changes in the technical environment - RequiredExperience with data reporting tools especially Tableau (and preferably also Power BI, Viya, others) - RequiredBachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technology-related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) with a focus on programming, data structure, data visualization - Required
